2021 will mark the 38th year for this festive house tour in historic Island Heights and features six unique homes, all beautifully decorated for the holidays. Hosted by the Island Heights United Methodist Church, this holiday event will takes place annually December from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition, there will be two craft shows, one at the church (111 Ocean Avenue), and the other at the Island Heights Elementary School on Lake Avenue, both free and open to the public between 9:30 and 3:30 p.m. For a nominal fee, breakfast will be served at the church from 8 to 11 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 to 3:30 p.m., and will feature homemade Methodist Minestrone soup, sandwiches, and desserts. Delicious baked goods and handmade crafts will also be sold at the church in Fellowship Hall. Guests may also choose to relax and enjoy hot beverages and homemade sweets in a Victorian tearoom from 1 to 4 p.m. for $5.
On tour day, many Island Heights points of interest will open their doors, all are mentioned within the House Tour booklet. A candlelight carol service will kick off home-tour weekend on the Friday before the tour held in the beautiful sanctuary of the church. Tickets are $30 before December 5 and $35 on the day of the event, tickets may be purchased at the Island Heights United Methodist Church, 111 Ocean Avenue, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or you may complete your purchase online. Tickets will also be available on house tour day and may be purchased at the church or the Island Heights Elementary School beginning at 9:00 a.m.
